Suggested Finishing StepsThe following information is designed as a starting point when finishing solid surfaces. Actual grit selection may be changed to meet individual customer specifications for surface appearance. Each desired finish has a suggested abrasive sequence. For dry sanding applications, use Royal Abrasives. For wet (mist) sanding applications, use Q-Silver abrasives. Abralon should always be used with a water mist for lubrication. Remember to wipe the surface clean between steps to prevent contamination scratches. Matte Finish: 220 grit, followed by Abralon 360 Satin Finish: 220 grit, followed by Abralon 360 and 1000 Gloss Finish: 220 grit, followed by Abralon 360 and 2000 *To finish seams or level repair areas, begin by using 80 grit abrasive, followed by 150 or 220.
